Speaking of TV-watching, I have gotten into the habit of asking Son each evening, "Is there anything worth watching on TV tonight?" He knows what might interest me so he tells me a thing or two. If he can't come up with something that sounds absolutely great, I don't even turn the thing on. LOL

Re: Jimmy
Yes Jimmy, I sometimes wonder how long Sport will continue, the high prices being paid to obtain the best, not really sportsmanship. More like a power force, but if that is needed to provide entertainment I suppose one must accept the fact. I know quite a few who supported a local team, they have change alliance since it has had a run of bad luck.

Re: In prime time I stare at the shadows shifting on the bright screen
I used to wonder what they were laughing at Pat. It seems funny in a way human's being interested in other humans silly antics. Perhaps it gives some a feeling of superiority.

Re: My grandpa taught me to eat melon with a bit of salt.
Oh Ciel I just could not eat it with salt. Like a lot of things I think they must taste nicer when one is young. Funny I remember my Dad cycling up to the store to get Mother a Watermelon after she had given birth to her last child, it was what she fancied. I will check it out . ps I have grown melons here but they are fairly tasteless even from a greenhouse.

Re TV: I used to adore those 'Brit-Coms' as we called them, shows like Fawlty Towers for example, or even Keeping up Appearances...But if there any of those left, we no longer get them here...I love your poem about that poor mouse driven out of his house, and I'm glad he made it across the road, LOL...And I shall think of or look for a recipe...

My grandpa taught me to eat melon with a bit of salt.
Sometimes, I like it just plain, full of its own flavor. I don't think the shape of the bite-sized bits matters.
I like how you describe the world through the eyes of the beastie. It's an interesting challenge, to do that. I have one like it, from a dolphin's perspective... I think it's in my listed items, actually, one called SOUL IN THE WATERS.

In prime time I stare at the shadows shifting on the bright screen
and hear the laugh track urging me to haw-haw in time with the rest, but there's not much fun in their playing, it's double-edged and snarky.
Loved the mousie's story, I could feel the footsteps above him and at the end a new place, warmed by hens where grain might be available. Write on, CC!

I can't really blame you for your lack of interest when it comes to the "boob-tube." There are very few shows that my wife and I enjoy anymore. We usually like to watch television primarily for two reasons: information, or entertainment. If any show does not provide us with either, off it goes! Right now, most of my television viewing is reserved for sports . . .

There were times when I did not watch much television. I watch a fair amount of now...That is quite the conclusion the speaker of the poem comes to.
