I do hope all is well with your friend, but I want you to know that I like the hats the nurses wore back then in the good old days...At least you knew who the nurses were. I asked a lady in scrubs if she could get me a drink, When I had my stroke a few years back, and wouldn't you know it, she was just visiting the fellow next to me and not a nurse at all...But she still got me a drink.

Re: JimmyA

Kabu is the RN.  I am an LPN.  I usually just say "nurse".  Not a lot of difference in what we do, but a lot of difference in education, esteem, opportunity for advancement, and pay scale.

I would think that being a former RN would help you tremendously at this time in your life. Not a lot of people can say they have any kind of medical training or background. I hope this poor man recovers soon . . .

That is good news about your friend's brother. He was very sick and it is good to have a happy ending.

They admitted in this horrible hospital here that Wiley isn't getting the follow up because I am a retired RN. Sigh!!

Re: Justi

They were taken so long ago they are only in photo albums and I don't have a scanner attached to this computer.  But, it was white uniforms (dresses), white shoes, white hose, little white stiff hats that sat on the very top of the head and got knocked off anytime one had to bend or stoop for anything.  LOL.  The teddy bear scrubs are a lot more comfortable to work in.

I am happy your sister's friend's brother is on the mend big time. Oh I loved the nurses hats and starched outfits. I personally don't like the little blue, green or some color pants with teddy bear tops. This is such an important profession, they look like they are on a house cleaning venture. Show us a photo of you in your nurse's outfit.

And here I was thinking "Milk of Amnesia" was Scotch...

It's just as well he can't remember all that and I hope he and your sis both feel "fine as frog's hair" right away. As for the nurse's caps - I thought they were like crowns, only very special people got to wear them.

We seem to get a plethora of nurses on Blogit. Perhaps you should start a Union now there's Kabu and you we will count Pat in as she has been involved. You can recruit the others,
