I am thinking that the step father to be, has molested the boy or beaten him he wants someone to take care of him which is intriguing I must say.

My Dad always talked a lot about "the old stomping grounds". I loved it when he did that. His old stomping grounds were in and around Antlers, OK and the Kiamichi Mountains. He had some good tales to tell, most of them hilarious.

Now, that's thinking like a 13-yr old!
I can do whatever, be irresponsible and rude and foolish, but He's supposed to take care of me!
The moment of the snake, it was unclear to me whether he got bit or not. He rolled away as the snake struck, but those things are really fast, so for a while I was wondering when he was going to start feeling it.
