Re:
It was fun, lovelylady! And I too am still in contact with a few of those classmates. Now, if was my high school class, forget about it! Like I wrote, that 8th grade class had 64 kids. My high school graduation class had well over 500! I'd be lucky to name 100 . . .

I'm sure I could name a good number of them. Some of them I still have contact with even now. Glad you had such fun!

Re:
I don't think, TAPS, that you should refer to yourself as "awfully" old. Just being old is bad enough!
But I understand. Like I wrote, I was somewhat amazed, and proud, at getting 63 out of 64! Twenty years from now, I may not be so proficient, or lucky . . .

Probably only a few....but, afterall, I went to an awfully large school, and I'm awfully old now. LOL

Re:
Thanks, Kabu. I only wish that my percentage of answering questions on some of those school tests was as high! I would have been a straight-A student! As it was, my report cards had a lot of B's and C's, but I guess that's better than a bunch of D's and F's . . .

All of them, Annicita? Sure, sure, rub it in! I'm still happy with 63 out of 64! But it is fun to do, isn't it? I can't help but wonder if any of my former classmates did the exact same thing one day, and couldn't name me . . .

Re: We had a class of about 32 in Grade 8....
Uh, oh, Rumor. Did I spark something within you to take a similar stroll down memory lane, and perhaps undergo a similar challenge? Hey, it might be more fun than you think! Just whatever you do, don't forget to pick out and name yourself . . .

Re:
That would make it somewhat easier, FSI! Less kids, and less years in between, would help tremendously! That's why I was so proud of myself in naming 63 out of 64 after forty years! I still wish I could have named that last girl though! Oh, well . . .

Re: Overcrowded classrooms
You may recognize the belt buckle, Setaki, but how about the boy himself? That's the real challenge! Actually, our 8th grade class was divided into two separate rooms, one called "advanced," and the other referred to as "remedial." They just combined us for this picture. There's no way any of those classrooms could have accommodated 64 kids at once!

Re:
That, C C T, would be an even greater challenge. I guess my memory of these people is sort of locked into that particular time period, and that's how I would think of those people now. How many I could recognize and name if I ran into them today would probably be far less, I suppose . . .

Re:
Has it been that long, Utah? My friend also had our high school year book, and I must say that, besides the length of hair ( much, much shorter now ) and my poor attempt at a mustache ( completely gone now ) I don't think I've changed all that much. Other people might feel differently though, but that's my story and I'm sticking to it . . .

Re:
I understand, lustor. I guess it's a matter of priorities. Yeah, I believe it's far more important to remember your own name than the names of people you went to school with years ago. It was just a fun challenge for me, and one I feel I did pretty good with . . .

Re: Jimmy
Really, Naut? Just out of curiosity, what percentage of your former classmates do you think you might be able to name? Or has it been just too damned long?
I usually struggle with names, but for some reason, I never forget a face. How I did so well with these kids names is beyond me . . .

Beings that I am twenty-eight and there were only twenty-seven others in the entire grade (I went to a small private school), I would like to think that I could name all my eighth grade peers.

Overcrowded classrooms
64 pupils in a class, that is quite a large number. Parents over here are unhappy about classes with more than 35 kids as it makes individual attention to them impossible, they say.I would be able to recognise only one of the 50 boys who were in my 8th grade class; he had broad orange coloured buckle belt with which he used to sort us out when we bothered him.I would recognise it in any old faded photograph.

Seriously that was pretty good. I wonder though if they were all in a room, if you could name them, as you now see them as they were obviously.
