Re: I'm with you, CCT - I don't understand women either...

No, you have already told us how you were raised Pat. Your Mama was quite firm, but the poor dear had a lot to contend with. I should not think she ever had the luxury of searching for nice shoes. People grumble today but an old lady told me when she had her fourth child she had no food in the house until a neighbour brought her a herring.

Re:Justi

Green is a novelty in some flowers Justi I was not sure if I should keep this one but you have decided for me. Better not to be too clever, a study of kittens helps, wouldn't you say.

I'm with you, CCT - I don't understand women either...

never mind I am one, I was raised by wolves.  My daughter loves shoe shopping, granddaughters also go coo-coo for strappy sandals and bling. I've always enjoyed soft warm fabrics like flannel. But this old gal loves the flower pics, and the one you put up today is amazing!

I love the flowers. I remember my mother had both green and blue dahlias when I was little and I thought they were so beautiful. Oh I think you understand women, you only want them to think you do not.  Nice work again.

Re: The flowers are a cheery note to end this year's display!

Chrysanthemums Ciel green flowers seem to be in vogue, not my favorite though.

I suppose it may have done, one carves to the bone to get the juiciest meat. That is what is called evading a suggestion. I think. Not knowing much about women.

Re: Naut

Yes Naut all these old traditions will slowly die I expect. I remember seeing kids dropping bangers into glass bottles, now that was really stupid . Yes I guess it has been racked with disasters memory is short.

CCT

I would imagine all the fireworks are about Guy Fawkes Day - 'Remember the Guy, remember the Guy...', LOL...Of course London has seen far worse lately (G.F. didn't succeed anyway!), and I'm not talking about the Blitz...

And the poem manages to conjute up the ephemeral once again, in your inimitable way...

it is a treasure to see some flowers at this time of the year. It is horrid here just now. Everything looks dead as we wait for snow cover.

The flowers are a cheery note to end this year's display!

Youre poem as ever has a wistful wry humor, and seems to me, to mask a touch of heartache.
