Maybe she is sicker than she realizes and doesn't always get her facts right. I am betting that she had more than onelittle glass of wine. Of course the real loser in all this is that little baby. A sad story love.

She sure has gotten herself into a fix there! They usually give the child to one of the parents unless the mother can prove the dad is unfit as well.

Because they were more interested in the safety of the child than the whims of this mother.........

I have seen such decisions before, where either parent may be considered "unfit," and yet still receives custody of a child! Confusing . . .

Just goes to show how ridiculous the mental health clinics are. They won't let you in unless you have been arrested or stopped by the police...Trying to take care of yourself before you reach that point is considered sanity...they really need to revamp their admissions etc.
Thankfully we have the Hyland Center in St. Louis and the benefactor made it a proviso that if someone came for help they couldn't turn them away.

Coming as an total outsider, I would think that the courts have lost faith in her, perhaps they are thinking, what if she drives under the influence with the baby in the car? You see the court does not consider happenstance or circumstance, only facts, and it was she who was over the limit, no matter how slightly, she should of known better than to be around her ex and her child in that condition under these circumstances.
