Re: CCT,
I'm thinking all squirrels are nut-cases. I will see if I can see who goes in and out of that nest.
A squabble of squirrels?

I don't think your squirrel will hack it all Winter in that tree, but if you are a betting person. No I think that is summer quarters it looks cosy but too precarious in Winter storms. Of course it might be a nut case and think with food at hand a chance has be taken. Peanuts I say.Now what is a collection of squirrels?

Re: Pat,
No starch or wax... they will relax a bit over time, but they are small enough that their own weight won't collapse them. These, when washed and tumble-dried, will felt up a little, but they are only half-wool, half-acrylic fiber, so they won't felt up a lot.
Now I will be watching for crows, too!

Nice photos... especially like the crocheted baskets...
one question: do you starch them or spray them with acrylic or dip them in wax to make them more firm? Or can they just maintain their shape without such? The crows walking in formation are interesting. Don't remember ever noticing them doing that.
