though i grew up in an affluent small town neighborhood, i've fallen

and i can't seem to get up out of this low income neighborhood now. i forgot to buy treats for the little guys but saw them when i left for a meeting. there seemed to be a lot of lights on and kids enjoying the whole charade. love the pics of those doggies. i just love dogs. especially now when they're other peoples! i read your other post. it's only by the grace of God that that gal isn't me. will keep her in my prayers. especially that she suffers with a mental illness.

love always,

pear

It's popular in my area...they bus people in from all over the metro area to see this one street in our city...they spend thousands to decorate and only give out candy until 8pm since they have to block off the street and have the police there to direct traffic!

great costumes  thanks for the fun aaaaand no visitors here either. It seems that our one little boy is too grown up this year to trick or treat. perhaps too many weirdos are around these days so kids go to safer parties or a Mall or what.

I haven't had a trick or treater

Lots of churches have created a large space for the children with rides, bobbing for apples all sorts of things and far too much candy. This began years ago because of the rise in crime at the time in the streets. I think it has a very different tone now.  The doggies are so cute.

They have trunk or treats here and things at the malls, but we still get our fair share of trick or treaters.

I honestly think the kids can't be bothered here, it was never a big occasion. Also once when we were smaller communities we knew who to approach and who would be an old misery. Lets face it who wants a few sticky sweets on a wet night with the thought of strangers being around. I think you are right it is dying out because of circumstances. Like the doggies though I hope you gave them a treat.

We had the same amount of trick-or-treaters . . . zero! The primary reason is, our town has set up a route with the local businesses to have the kids go door-to-door at the stores and strip malls, with the participating businesses giving out candy. The kids were all in large groups, with parental supervision. And, it's done in the late afternoon while it's still light out. I'm glad my wife chose to purchase candy that she herself enjoys! We're going to be eating a lot of it ourselves . . .
