- Go to To Wash Your Hands Can Make You Happy
Always wash your hands between patients,
in the presence of a new patient before touching him/her;never do it in the presence of the patient you have just examined,we were taught as medical students. Some people are very touchy, so to speak, when it comes to that.

I use the Purell these days everyshop I see it in when I am out and about and carry a little bottle in my bag. But I agree a good scrub is always the best way.

I agree, I am a hand washer. I used to think my mother had done this to me because the first thing she did when I got home from school from day one was make me wash my hands to the elbows with Lifebuoy soap. I never had all those diseases except chickenpox and measles I got the measles from mom where she contacted them working at church.

If handwashing lifts the spirits, doctors and nurses must really
be happy campers. I also like the Purell, I have one at bathroom and kitchen sinks.

Well I wash my hands frequently Taps of course one can get too germ conscious as when one has O.C.D then one feels the need to wash every few minutes. I quite like the gel that kills germs, money is a filthy carrier of feces and mucky things and yet one sees people holding it in their mouths , well mouths are the dirtiest part of the body so we have been told so perhaps it does not matter,

Very important it is to wash one's hand. It is nice reading how much Phil enjoys having it happen...As for me, I wash my hands but do so in cold water. My skin was cracking open with hot water.

Thanks!
good and timely reminders here!
There are some things that even just handling them makes my hands want washing. Dusty dry things, like potatoes, not necessarily nasty things in themselves, but the hands want to forget as soon as possible!

I'm like you - I have become slightly compulsive about washing my hands after coming home - especially if I've been shopping, even if I haven't used a shopping cart (shopping cart handles are the worst! I know that from a not terribly scientific but probably valid Mythbuster episode, LOL)! And I even wash the tomatoes I buy thoroughly - do you know how many people 'test' tomatoes before they finally pick one up?
Other than the good feeling I get from knowing I have reduced my chances of catching something nasty I don't get a particular uplift from doing it, though...
