Melatonin is not considered a sleep aid, and yes my body has become accustomed to them but its not the same as an addiciton

If I'm not mistaken, sleep aids are meant to only be taken once in a while, not on a regular basis. If you take them all the time, your body becomes used to them and they stop working for you.

perhaps having some of your money problems resolved has been a help to you re the sleeping. Tiring one out is surely a good idea for sleeping and perhaps the pills have helped you to establish sleeping patterns.

Natural sleep is always best, of course, so it's really great that you have stopped taking the pills. I know when I am really stressed or have a lot on my mind I can't sleep. SO I clean and keep busy until I pretty much exhaust myself lol. And YAY on the microwave problem. That's great!
