There was a part of me that was hoping that you would suddenly add "And then I woke up!" Sometimes my wife and I see some of our neighbor's dogs "behaving badly," and we never blame the dogs! That is all the fault of your b_stard neighbor! I hope you, and the doggies, are doing better . . .

What an awful thing.  I don't see how you handle things with a neighbor like that.  What will you do now?  I would always be afraid of another terrible encounter.

I have been holding my breath, worried that something like this might happen again. Down here we have a leash law, and property lines which may not always be strictly enforced, but they are used to determine right and wrong. Down here the neighbor who was on your property with his animals off of their leash would at the very least be paying the vet bill. I am however grateful to hear of your new found income...Wish I could say something that would make you smile, but hey...I'm old.

Ah luv...what a shame ...your happy plans cancelled and replaced by such a miserable and terribly expensive day. I just wonder where this will all end. It is crazy. I am happy about the job siruation though. Even if you can manage to work some months it may give you the time needed to get your affairs in order. sending you positve thoughts and hugs.

Yes rough luck Adnohr those dogs should be put in a home.

I know they can't help it, but it is tragic.

I do hope you get this new job and eventually a strong fence.

I don't want to think of the pain that you have gone through

and I expect the dogs were bewildered to find they had aches and pains.

At least you can still smile, good on you.

Like others here, it is amazing that there is no legal recourse

for this situation.  Perhaps a civil suit, for him to pay those vet bills, and your doctor bills?  Do you have an equivalent to our Small Claims Court?

For the getting of work, for the being needed, and having a friend to be at home when you need to go out...  Smiles, wide and shiny!

adnohr

I had been a bit worried about your absence, but thought you might have been travelling a bit. And now I read this, and again it makes me sick to my stomach and furious!

Is there nothing one can do about that S.O.B. and his dogs? I know that at least here in Ontario 'No Trespassing' signs are enforcable, even without a fence. And further, here the guy would be liable for the vet bills if his dogs were running lose and yours were on the leash, even if they weren't on your property.

When Bennie was attacked and severely bitten by that Lab who tore away from the nanny while we were walking in the park, the owner paid up immediately, knowing full well that any refusal on her part would have just added to the cost, since she'd have to pay my lawyer's fees as well, LOL.

I hope your doggies are recovering well, and of course I'm glad you're feeling better and that you've got work, even if you have to get up at seven , which wouldn't be my cup of tea either...

I knew something was wrong. I've been so worried...

Never once thought you and your doggies would be attacked. I was thinking flu at the rug rats' or that you'd started a job. I'm so glad to read you, sorry for the effing mess, and keeping fingers crossed there'll be enough money from this job to put an electric fence between Mr. Ass and civilization.
