We might try this, up to now we have just put seeds out and the quail, finches, and chickadees just keep coming...We even had a woodpecker out there.

It might be good for the birds, but they would probably wreak havoc with my teeth . . .

I'm thinking there would be less spillage from these seed cakes
than from a regular feeder. Less spillage onto the lawn below means less volunteer plants to pull up next spring. It's a win-win.

Well Taps you are a martyr . I would eat the cakes and put some sunflower seeds out, but i guess you like doing it so that's alright.

TAPS
Our birds and our squirrels are very well fed - they're all so plump, it's the talk of the neighbourhood and also known to the hawks! And I should feed them such delicious cakes on top of everything else? Sorry, it's not happening! If I make these, I'll eat them myself...

Re: Kabu
Son tells me I spoil the birds. He caught me giving them some of his favorite bread the other day made into a peanut butter sandwich for them.

I love how you admit that you eat the bird feed. Tee Hee but it does sound delicious.
