Just do it. It is great fun. I wrote books for my Grandchildren and published them through LULU so that they have a professional look and the kids still have them even though they are grown. Also there is a company that writes the story but you give them the Child's name and they insert it into the book. They are a great hit as well.

The same publisher that came out with Harry Potter
is a huge publisher of children's books. Dang me, but I cannot remember which one, just that blurb of story from reading J.K. Rowling's bio. From "Writers Digest" or "Writers Market" I've read that they have illustrators on staff and prefer to do so in-house. Maybe Google children's book publishers online.
Your great-grandaughter looks adorable in that little box...

Well you start Once upon a time, when grandma was a little girl, she heard a funny little voice at the bottom of her garden. At first she thought it might be a green froggy trying to sing, but it came from a small bush and she knew it wasn't a bird as they were all chatting to each other as they ate their breakfast fom the bird table.

Seeing the photo reminds me my days of being that small are long gone....I like the idea of trying to write a children's book.
