Re: Wiley

Thank you friend.  You are so savvy in all things computer.  I did what you said and now the problem has vanished.  I am protected and problem free at least for 29 days.  That gives me plenty of time to decide what to do next.

I really can't add more to all the good advice you've been given, except for this: Swallow your pointless pride and get the geeks in your family to help you - they all know already you're not a hacker...Oh, and you've got ...

My son-in-law knows how things work, and some cool stuff.  when I done what you done, this is how it got fixed.  If he says it's good, it isn't because he works for them.  He owns a Mac.

Well if you have a disk Taps you should be able to use it with out too much problem. We never uninstall for Kapersky can't you just reinstall . Ask your Sons, go on they will be pleased to sort it out for you.

Re: Pat_B

I tried the "restore" and it didn't work because I had uninstalled.  I did buy it from Best Buy and shortly after the Best Buy where I bought it closed down.  So I'm not sure where to take it.

I believe Justi is right on with her advice...

There's a "restore" option on Windows - don't know if it would fix this, but if you talk to one of the Best Buy Geek Squad guys, they could tell you. I'm guessing you bought the software from them...

First call your cc and tell them this and ask if they will stop this payment. Then check Norton. It has been the best for us for years now. There are all sorts who tell you are are windows etc., and they tell you your computer is in bad shape and it is not when you get them on and they are only pulling data off your disk. Don't give up your computer because of bullies I have been there so many times, I made some real messes too. i have just sat an cried but you can stop the payment.
