One idiot quoted it, and the rest of the idiots in the news media perpetuated it. Nothing new or unusual . . .

BOSON- HIGGS PARTICLE

this, Boson-Higgs particle that, we have been hearing the whole week. I understand the have been searching for it for the past forty years and now that they have found it I was expecting them to shout Eureka! Einstein must be turning over in his grave because they say this particle is the missing link in his equation that  explains how matter is created, hence the 'God Particle'. More of the 'Rolandi' stuff that peeved me in the past in Physiology.

I suppose a name has to be contrived to add interest Naut

It is hard to imagine what it means, I expect you know

but the majority probably have no conception.

At least it has been recognized as a worthy endeavour.

Thanks for making us aware that they did not come up with the name "God Particle."

I always get a kick out of seeing the Nobel winners and what they've

done. So many others working hard on other projects we never hear about. The universe and our understanding of it is going to change exponentially over the next few generations.

LOL - physicist Lederman said they called it the God Particle because the publishers wouldn't let them call it the Goddamn Particle, which is a more apt name for it.
