I also try to welcome "newbies" whenever I can. But I will also echo everyone else's sentiment about the communication being a "two-way street." It would be nice to get replies once in a while too, and that should probably go for everyone . . .

Well Jay sadly one welcomes most and not many reply to comments even,
I wil try to expend a little time to encourage them, but I run pretty close
to the rail time-wise and have not had time to write anything today for my blog.

I think if we were to teach them the ropes, so to speak, that they would have a better experience and stay longer, like Kabu, I only comment on my friends and on those who comment to me, but like Naut, I try to welcome each newbie when I notice them.

one has to comment around to get the comments back. Once a person gets known they quickly become part of Blogit, if you enjoy their work. I read all the friends that I enjoy whether they comment to me or not but newbies i will visit and if I am not really into their work I don't try hard to understand them, unless they show up on my post.

I have noticed that too, Jay. Unfortunately, it seems that the newbies have to comment on others' blogs (i.e. like Swordfingers did when she came here) to get the clicks.

Hey, I welcomed White Hat Troublemaker and Setaki - I already feel like the official Blogitville Welcoming Committee, but it's a lot of work, and I need some assistance...
