I second Naut's comment. This was a great read, and I like the way you show the events through the people. I can understand, but not agree with, the way Jane reacted.

What a shame to spend all her life looking back...One's heart can break of course and things never be the same but looking forward and living. That's what it is all about...You write so well i get all worked up see!!!LOL...feel that I am part of your tale.

Lovely sad story Pat. What a shame to let the house disintegrate. Her life was bound up in her car a kind of symbol of her past life I suppose. Nicely written as usual .

It is neat reading about the car...My dad's best friend and manager has a nice car, '69 Corvette or something or the other. He drives it shows but rarely in general.

Another one of your elegantly written vignettes, recalling a whole era through a glimpse at some people’s history, nostalgic but unsentimental, and with genuine feeling for them and their lives, the whole thing held together beautifully by ‘Baby Blue’....
