When I tip the laptop screen (or myself) back a bit,

this rose takes on new life and color! If you have a photo-edit program, you can maybe get that effect, should you want it, by decreasing highlights and slightly increasing contrast.

As is, the softness is very sweet and delicate. I can't help but play with the colors, though.

I don't it stops it Judy ,but it certainly lessens the symptoms if one should catch the virus

Great poem!  I  got my flu shot yesterday, arm still sore!  Hate shots, but it is a necessary evil I must endure!  Hahah  Beautiful Rose C C T

Yes, I want to be taller on a regular basis and appreciate others who do.  At least it may be good entertainment for those who view our antics to reach things.  Awesome poem, will have to read a second time to really get it.

Re: Many years ago my mother-in-law, who was not prone to morbid

Charming idea of your Mum's, I wonder if she ever had one. Perhaps you should make the Nun 51 Pat that might be stretching it a bit.

Re:

Nice to have known you Carlyn I get your drift, you need an audience , it is lacking on some sections. I think it worked at the beginning.

Re: Ciel...

The moon was a Ghostly Galleon sailing the stormy seas. Something like that I think Ciel. Sadly I lost the sentiment about the moon when men stood upon its surface.  .

Re: Adnohr

A bit morbid, but near to the truth as anyone can tell. A very late rose I thought a shame to waste a brave effort.

I'm really impressed with your poem...It requires second and third readings, and reflecting...

Both the bloom and the poem today are just utterly awesome, CCT. You can rest now.

Impressive poem...

It reminds me of one my sister had to memorize in school, called THE HIGHWAYMAN.  This was like the sequel, and more powerful.

I don't know about being taller, but I do know what a wonderful work you have posted here. I found the poetry to be powerful and moving, the kind of thing I wish I could write with as much ease as you...Well done CCT, well done indeed.

Yeah, sometimes I wish I were taller, but in most incidences my height is adequate. And no, I never get a flu shot! For some reason, my system is doing just fine, and I very rarely get sick! Must be all those apples . . .

We will be getting our flue shots soon as well. That is an awsome poem....very disturbing really... how many secrets does every corner of England hold. Myth grown from a truth??? You are brilliant...I shall take the rose thank you!

Many years ago my mother-in-law, who was not prone to morbid

thoughts, said she thought the flu shots were a government conspiracy to get rid of the old people so as to save money on pensions.  Your graveyard poetry reminds me I need to start on plot outline and characters for National Novel Writing Month - The dream/idea about the 71-year-old pregnant nun is going to need a bit of TLC if it's to bloom into a real story.
