Re:
Thanks, swordfingers. I do my best. Sometimes I wish my mom wasn't so far away. But even though I don't see her as often as I'd like, I always make sure she never feels forgotten. I call her at least once a week, and like I wrote, send little gifts as often as I can. Ya gotta love your mom . . .

Re:
Thanks for the friendly wave, Sir Wiley. I'm assuming that's your polite way of saying that you don't have my Granny Smith apples up there! I'm still looking . . .

Re: Re: Re:
I'm sure they're all good, Kabu, especially covered in dark chocolate. But to be perfectly honest, I've never heard of either Tasmanian or Batlow apples! They remind me of the various breeds of both cats and dogs, and the various plants and flowers out there! There's just so many, I can't keep track or remember them all! I was always only familiar with three types of apples . . . Granny Smiths, Red Delicious and Golden Delicious. Beyond that, an apple was just an apple . . .

Re:
Will do, C C T. But I must say, I really don't think that mum was just "being nice." I know my mother better than anybody! I believe she was being sincere when she expressed her fondness for these chocolate-covered Granny Smith wedges! The red beauties sound nice too, and almost anything covered in melted chocolate is delicious! I'm actually not sure of what mom's reaction might be to those brandy cherries. Perhaps I should find out someday. No matter what though, I think I'll still be her favorite son . . .

Re:
In ours too, TAPS. And you can always slice them and cover them with chocolate yourself! Perhaps I should have looked into purchasing them on my own, trying to create a similar floral arrangement, cover everything in delicious melted dark chocolate, and sent it on its way! Think mom would have known the difference . . . ?

Re:
It may indeed, Annicita. Perhaps they would need to modify that slogan to "Everything's Bigger in Texas . . . Just Not Always Available!" Yeah, perhaps I should look into other similar sites . . .

Re:
Perhaps, MsJudy, it was simply the timing. I guess we can't assume that everything will be available whenever we need it to be. But of all the things to have somewhat of a shortage of, I never thought apples would ever be on that list . . .

Re:
So perhaps, Kabu, you and C C T are in cahoots on this one? The old Canada-England connection, huh? What's your cut? Twenty-percent, and all the apples you can eat? Don't start blogging about your homemade apple pies anytime soon . . .

Re:
I suppose so, lustor. It was just so disappointing to see that particular arrangement offered, but not for the area my mom lives in! At least, not at that moment in time. I hope they can get them back again soon. Mom really dug them . . .

It does sound kinda strange, doesn't it, FSI? I mean, of all the things growing throughout the lands, I never thought there might actually be a shortage of apples! I hope they return soon! Mom really loved those chocolate-covered Granny Smith wedges . . .

Well, Utah, if I had a choice . . . So, did the worms eat most of the stock, or most of each of the apples themselves? I don't mind anything piecemeal, but there are limits . . .

Re: Jimmy
A-ha, Naut! So you've got them all! Hey, I wasn't overly worried about getting a few for us here in Jersey, but to deny my mother those special chocolate-covered treats? I guess I'll just have to tell on you . . .

Well Jimmy I think your Mum was being kind to you,
I rate Granny Smith apples as nearly zero.
They hang on my tree for oinks the birds ignore them
and I usually pick them out of boredom in late Autumn.
Mums have to think of things to say to please their little boys.
I would look for a nice mixed selection of chocolate coated apples
cox or a similar nice desert apple, sadly we have the nicest
apples here I have some little red beauties
I must take a photo of them.
Did you know most modern apple trees originated at a
goverment station here they did not put a patent on them
and they are grown in thousands abroad.
Send Mum a box of chocolate brandy cherries while you are searching.
; You only have one you know, and I expect you want to be
the favourite Son. Most men's wish. Try Amazon.

I saw something on tv about flower arrangements that are ordered on line are not the same as if you ordered them through the florist itself probably the same goes for edible arrangements and they are seasonal
