I've gotten lots of them on my old email.  Now that I have changed emails I don't get them.  And that is unfortunately not the first time I have hear of someone being such a lowlife as to use another person's ID!  What's so hard about getting a job or opening your company that doesn't operate on  the CROOK principles!

How sad. Someone who would do such is so broken they can't know what good really is.

I get one of these from time to time and I wish then well and direct them to the American embassy.

One of the first clues is the slightly off use of English.

How often does someone choose the word 'refund' rather than 'repay' under these circumstances?

I've gotten a couple of these from friends' hacked accounts.

Poor girl has to change all her passwords and probably her email addresses too now. A nuisance altogether for her...and her friends.

Thank goodness for your suspicious mind - and your generous heart, Naut.

And thank you for clueing us in on this scam. I'm happy Cricket's okay, and hope the phisherman gets hooked and hoisted by his own petard (whatever that is).
