Coach Ertugal actually wanted to say Dumitru had a 'big mouth', but probably thought the 'loose tongue metaphor' would be more threatening. You don't choke and die from a 'big mouth' but the popular belief is that you most certainly can 'choke' on your tongue and die. As for the events they actually did take place as I said and I have used their real names.

What a bizarre series of events! Hopefully that would never work anywhere! And I believe the metaphor of having a "loose tongue" is basically referring to someone who talks too much, or consistently reveals things they probably shouldn't have! Over here we call them "big mouths!"
