This is all very sad! Nietzsche's words come to mind, "What doesn't break me makes me stronger"...

There's obviously a lot of pain in your heart, as there seems to be a lot of negative history in your life. And that negative history is always hardest when it concerns family, especially negativity that is not particularly fair. But you can't let the things that were overshadow the things that are! I was like that for a while myself, so I completely understand. I myself have a HUGE skeleton in my closet that I don't want to bring up here, but suffice it to say it nearly cost me my life in more ways than one! I believe your poetry ( and all your writings ) are wonderful outlets that you shouldn't give up on. Stay focused, and please don't despair. You're actually not alone . . .

There was a time Jay  when I used to sit on the edge of a black hole....would it mesmerize me into falling into it, would it rise up and swallow me. Later i used to dream every night that I was standing behind a brick wall. Everyone was on the other side in the light, laughing and talking. I stood alone in the dark.

I love this poem even though it hurts, it touches and awakens emotions. Signs always of a well written piece I think. Keep on keeping on dear Jay...

The ugliness done to you made you a strong man. You rode alcohol and drugs for a way to move away from hurt. Now you are through both those hurt areas in your life. You have God and stay close to him, He will heal your wounds and place loving people in your life. God bless and keep you. I am praying for you as this was a hard new hurt, but it is over. (no more pain)

My paternal grandmother was the glue on that side of the family.

They have their own little boxes, you have your immediate family, don't let it get to you Jay.

Jay...

Jay, just keep writing your poetry, especially when you're feeling depressed and it doesn't really matter (because it really does matter)...let your feelings out, both the good and the bad....

2902 is right, Jay. Hurtful things happen, but the real winner is the person who can use those things for good, as you do with your poems.

That's very tough and disappointing. You seemed to have mastered

the artist's trick, though, of taking what is terrible and turning it into gold somehow.  If you get the chance, check out my comment on your previous post.
