I try to sing without moving my lips Pat funny one can remember really old songs And yours shows how folk accepted the ravages of age as just a inevitable fact.

I used to sing a lot around the house. Then I had several really bad bouts of laryngitis and now I can't sing because it makes me start having coughing fits. So I just sing the old songs I loved in my head. No one else can hear them, but I can.

Idyllic!
It does sound like a perfect day, with accomplishment and comfort and great company.
Maybe we've got this summer cracked, and fall is within view!

A perfect day - we all need those now and then to help us remember what it's all about.
