Re:Katray
AS I told Naut, but having thought it the road ran straight for miles . I don't know how the ROMANS spoke but could FAST HORSE ROAD been called by the locals as FOSSE ROAD. I should not think they had seen many Moats. Hope you are jogging along.

Re: Kabu
Hi dearie have you ever grown Zinnias. There is a Giant mix suppose to be great for cut flowers. Kabu one can still find the giant snail shells near the old Roman Villa, I wouldn't mind a juicy snail how about you?

Re: Adnohr
I really prefer pickled onions Adnohr but it is more fun to grow blackberries. Well it is nearly the end of the fly season, I think. I guess you are right about nature, we have short memories.

Re: My blackberry vines over the back fence in Seattle were fierce
As I say mine are thorn-less Pat except for a couple those are the ones I let others pick.
As you say they soon take over a hedgerow as they are trying to do around my fence. Fortunately that belongs to the Council . Yes I don't know how long I shall have to put up with the jingle, jangle. Can't upset the the relatives too much. Romans go Home.

Re: Naut
I like picking the thorn-less ones best Naut . Yes probably the natives could not understand the lingo and it is call that to this day little stretches used to be seen , but I have not looked for them for years. I don't know why I thought of the road, I should not think the Romans did much of the manual work. Perhaps it was the Fast Horse Road.

I love blackberries - if I were close, I'd come and pick them all, even if I had to bend down! Of course I'd give you and Mandy a handful...LOL. I hope Arthur doesn't read this blog, or he'll find out that you'd rather have a real curtain, LOL. Love the poem, but I always thought a fosse was a ditch, though yours sounds like a road...

My blackberry vines over the back fence in Seattle were fierce
wild vines that grow wild all over Washington and Oregon - Farmers and others consider them noxious vines - they sprout from seeds, the vines drop roots wherever they touch ground, and the can take over a field if you let them. I like the idea of a lace non-curtain that jingles in the wind... And the poem's fun, too - hoping the Roman roadbuilders will be usurped...

Yum - Blackberries!! Am right now enhoying black currant jelly, also one of my favorites. You are better to do to 'man' thing and not admit you were wrong about buying a real curtain
. Pretty curtains and enjoy how the poem shows that nature will take back its own after we have gone.

Beautiful flower, CC!

And now I have blackberry cobbler and wine on the mind, haha...yummy! The poem is very interesting and well done; is a Fosse a type of moat, perchance? And oh the flies are so stubborn here, they insist on coming in without welcome and only croak after driving a soul crazy for days...I hate knowing what they do to food when they land on it, ugh...
