Nothing can make me believe that they have not already thought of this, Naut. If they say anything different, it's just posturing and politics which of,  course, is far more important than lives.

Okay here comes the bad person of the world. I am against going into that squabble. Look at Iraq they are fighting like cats and dogs now. Why don't we bring our armies home, clean up our own problems and allow the whole world to manage their problems. We are trying to change them. We can't they are who they are and we are giving our people to change what cannot be changed. Why do we think we can create democracy and have it work there? It cannot work with their religion. Get a grip already. We have so many problems at home that need attending we should focus here first. This thought of mine is because I am a Christian. Those little children who are killed are immediately taken to Heaven I ask you are they not millions of times better?

Are we on the same time zone?  I ask because your post marks 6:59 am in my screen and it is beyond me how you can be so clear minded... so right on the point at so early a time!  I think you are absolutely right.  Assad has nothing to gain by killing women and children and innocent people and everything to lose... and so do we have nothing to gain by getting into another ill advised war.  <<>>  Just in passing I did not vote for the current mistake maker at the White House... and I can only imagine how those who did must be ringing their hands at his constant blunders... or perhaps not, there is no bigger blind person than he who does not want to see.  My heart brakes when I see those pictures of children gasping for air and like you ( and btw any other thinking person) I do not put it pass the "rebels"  to have done it.  Life is very cheap in the Middle East.  How terribly, inhumanly sad.Be well my friend  xoxoxo
