Re: WileyJohn
I know you are (hurting) and I hate that, but, from this end, I still think of you as we were back in 2004 when we first started here....you big and strong and such a hard worker, and lonesome for a good woman. Such a good woman you got.... again.

Before I got married, I lived alone for six years, and did all of my own cooking! And, I was pretty good at it, if I do say so myself! Now, my wife does all of the cooking, and she's wonderful! BUT, I don't just sit back and let her do all the work! I get out all the pots, pans and untensils, set the table, pull things out of the freezer and/or refrigerator, and give her as much of a headstart as I can. The, when we're finished, I pour her a glass of wine, put her feet up on the sofa, and do ALL of the cleanning up of the table and the entire kitchen! Kudos to your son for pitching in . . .

Most men make good cooks when they put their mind to it and son has noticed how tired you get. He knows how precious you are and is just quietly taking over so that you don't have to. So that you can potter as you want. I love him.

I think he is trying to tell you how much he values you.
A thing that has always been so, but perhaps in recent days, as you have begun to slow down some, he is suddenly conscious of it.

It's just that, as he's maturing, he's discovering that Mom's food may be great, but that men are even better cooks than mothers and wives, something I found out a long time ago for myself; and I am acting on it, of course, LOL...
Oh, and I have heard so much about Elmore Leonard, first from you but now also from others, that I have decided to 'discover' him...

That's great! He's cooking. Maybe he's seen some of the chefs on TV,
maybe Robert Irvine of the "Restaurant Impossible" series, and he's decided cooking isn't just woman's domain after all. Wow!
