Sorry for the loss.
I have no idea what selfies are, but it sounds boring. Ironically, with my handwriting being what it is and laborious, I doubt I would write a thing without a computer!

I was amazed when I heard how he wrote. I almost always write my first thoughts down in a composition note book and from there to the computer, but can you imagine doing everything on a note book and a type writer? I want to thank you so much for kind thoughts yesterday, you have a way of lifting my spirits that few others have and you have made a difference in my life many times, but none so much as yesterday.

I know it must have been a hard task, but surprising what one can do when one uses that which is available at the time. Like this spell checker which is a pain as American spelling is more frugal.

I was at my mom's when the news came on about his passing. Every writer is different in how they write and how much they write. I myself will never give up my blog...I might be absent from time to time but never gone....

I felt sad when i heard of his death too dear Taps. And yes, he evidently wrote from 9.30 am - 600pm all in long hand and them to a type writer.
I just have FB really for family pictures. It has gone like email where people keep sending junk mail that they received. I really enjoy finding out facts on the Internet and Blogit...that's it!!

Geez - I can remember writing things out by hand, then typing them (with lots of corrector tape) on a little portable. Dreaming all along that one day I would have a word processor (which Writer's Digest called it back then) and then I would become a WRITER. Didn't happen. Sad that he has passed on. I'm ok with FB. Selfies can become tedious though.

I saw a bio of Mr. Leonard on the news, and they left us with an interesting quote by him concerning writing in general. He said "If it sounds like writing, rewrite it!" And personally, I have absolutely no interest whatsoever in FB! There's too much personal information floating around out there as it is . . .

Re: Naut
Not mine! Here's the wikipedia def: A selfie is a genre of self-portrait photograph, typically taken with a hand-held digital camera or camera phone. Selfies are often associated with social networking and photo sharing services such as MySpace, Facebook, and Instagram, where they are commonly posted. They are often casual, are typically taken either with a camera held at arm's length or in a mirror, and typically include either only the photographer, or the photographer and as many people as can be in focus. Selfies taken that involve multiple people are known as "group selfies". LOL

I have to confess that I didn't even know Elmore Leonard's name, let alone his books! But I'm sure that's not the only gap in my knowledge of modern American literature, LOL.
And I was amazed when I heard that he wrote his books by hand - I'm not even sure I could put more than three or four letters together by hand, LOL. Even my signature is an almost illegible squiggle...
And I like the term 'Selfies' for FB types - is that a common one, or is it yours? To me, the very idea of FB is boring, and you'll never see me there...

That is interesting how he wrote it by hand and used a typewriter...I wonder too how much the Internet has impacted the amount of writing writers do.
