Another brilliant account of a happening in measured time. Good one. I wrote an address to you in my Believers blog. It is a family feud.

Way back in my high school years, I read The Saracen Blade by Frank Yerby.  It peaked my interest and, at that time I studied up (at the library as it was way before PC's) on Byzantium and Constantinople and all that jazz.  I never dreamed, at that time, that it would be such a very real part of our lives here in the U.S. in the eighth decade of my life.

You have done an excellent job in laying a foundation for many to easily understand.

Fascinating again! LOL - wish YOU  had been my history teacher, Naut! I believe that real life is as interesting as anything the imagination can come up with. Once again I could picture the invasions as if I was watching a movie (which is what I meant the first time too ). And seeing I'm not into the burqa, I'm quite happy for the Christian victory!!

Reading the first part of your entry reminded me of my time as a student teacher...Weather has had quite the effect on history...
