I like how in this poem you contrast what most feel to what you feel with the end of the day...

Enjoyed that, and have difficulty at times understanding poetry. But this one, we have walked some of the long steps of recovery with much the same emotional needs.

Sometimes I like to find my own meaning in a poem, perhaps quite different to what the writer intended. Othertimes it is good to be helped with understanding.
This poem I could see beteween the lines the picture that you were portraying and I find it a wonderful piece. Thank you Jay.

Sometimes a poem is great because it makes us think...and wonder. I don't mind not understanding your poetry immediately. I think on it, then come back. Whether it is joy or pain, it is life, and you are very good at expressing both.

oops - I left out a word - That last sentence should end "... where the poem really starts."

There's a lot of wonderful intense imagery, but (if I understand
your injunction to us your fans) - and if I were fortunate enough to be the one who wrote it - I'd trim it to maybe a third the length to make the really good stuff stand out more vivdly. With my own poems, I usually start by lopping off the first stanza or two for starters. In my case, I'm usually surprised to find out the poem really starts.

You often catch my imagination with the way you express things, and I get lost in my own thoughts for a time.
