That octopus is so cute! Beautiful work. We used to do knitting circles too. It's something I am thinking of getting back into. Having your own group to hang out with now and then is much better!
Congrats on the new rates!

I've just added a link to the post, to show off my new project piece
I will make a flock of these for holiday trimmings, cat toys, kid toys, and those who just like to have an octopus around.

Re: CCT,
When I was a kid, we did that, too... nails in a spool, and making jumpropes. I suppose you could make a rather odd looking hat... but just making a hat direct is easier!

Re: FormerStudentIntern.
It helps to get out and check out the downtown shops, to see what's going on!

Re: Pat,
Yes, this group is very big on charity efforts, like little cotton hats for preemies and bigger ones for folks going through chemo. I very much needed to stop waiting for Charlie to hang out with me, and to make some friends that weren't his friends first. For one thing, the 20s kids frequently make me feel most unfriendly.

yah!!!!! for you darlin' ....and all that company as well as selling. My Sisiter makes lace...y' know with the bobbins and a cushion...beautiful stuff. the ladies meet at her place or drive to another group in another town to meet with other lacers. She doesn't sell it but she has a scrap book to die for and has made two cloths with lace edges. i think it will go to a museum one day. Her daughters hate her lace.

I amazed at your talents Ciel I remember when we were kids we put four tin tacks in a cotton reel and looped wool over and over, a long rope of wool was the result it could be made into a hat I suppose, if one had the patience.

You must really look forward to Wednesdays now.
Long ago and far away the church ladies got together to piece and finish quilts. Maybe they still do that - it's a great way to socialize and accomplish something at the same time.
