I agree with the others. Too many factors to count determine to whom and what we respond that correlates to prejudice. Many are clueless.

Very well written and interesting post. It brought to my mind many people throughout my life that always denied being racially prejudiced but who, in many ways, showed themselves to be, without even realizing it.

Racism in general is a pointless endeavor, for one simple reason: under that skin, whether anyone would admit it or not, we are all the same. And people also tend to forget that there's good and bad everywhere! We are taught not to judge, but everyone does anyway. But if you are going to judge, you'd at least be better off basing it on a person's actions rather than the color of their skin . . .

I look at Zimmerman and Trayvon as a gun issue too...My father lived in Baltimore City during the 50s and 60s, and he talks about how segregated it was.
