My three all went to the same school,

and at that particular school, the 5th grade was awesome!  There was a team of teachers: each taught one of the three 5th grade classes, but they frequently combined classes, too.  One thing I remember was how they taught something about economics: Kids were 'paid' in funny-money for coming to school.  They had to pay rent for their desks, a fee for getting up in the middle of a class or exam to sharpen their pencils... and best of all, once a month, they held a swap meet, where they would pay funny-money for odds and ends the kids brought from home.

I think he will work it out in a day or two!

Re: Adnohr

I think there is a rush to judgement nowadays and then they keep the kids doped up when that may not be needed at all!

Re: Dr

I wonder if she is a first year teacher. Perhaps she thought first grade would be a breeze! Ha!

Re: kabu

I think you may be right about the count down!

If the class is all acting up sorry, it is the Teacher not the babies and no one can assess their pupils in the first three days. He was probably just counting down until he was with you and T and would see Mummy!

Quick assessments and labeling like that are not professional. It sounds more like a person who wants a class of robots. Hearing the sound of the locks reminds me off my visits to see my brother. Good thing it will not be long before she will be back home.

Ah no - I don't trust those teachers who decide that a child is suffering from whatever until they have real time to get to know that child! I've had it out with those kind of people more than once over my own kids and grandkids. Someone who thinks a group of young 'uns won't have noise and energy should NOT be teaching! I hope things turn out well for Ari there. Kool what the warden did for them!

It can be tough to recover from those daytrips...Oh yes, three days is too soon to start labeling...I don't like the idea of holding him back either.

I just had to check out Zebulon, GA after reading your post.  I really loved the old Pike County Courthouse there.  It kind of looks like that one in the old movie Back to the Future.
