Stage fright is something else. I find the initial shock, then just continue. Unless it is a hostile audience, I have no problem. I was told by a professor BE PREPARED, BE PREPARED. I think the actor did the best thing. Had he tried to go back that would have made him and the others cast member confused.

I think it probably helps if one remains confidant in childhood , or does not have a bad scene lodged in the mind which can materialize into treacherous thoughts.

I agree being human makes one more likeable no matter who they are.

I suppose these are the two extremes: some people get really nervous in front of an audience and begin to ramble, while others may clam up completely! It's difficult sometimes to pin-point what the exact cause or thought-process may be. Fear of looking foolish ( like you said ), fear of rejection, fear of scrutiny . . . who's to say for sure? All I know is, I'd rather not get up in front of a crowd if I don't have to . . .

It all looks like it comes so easy to the good ones. Ballet always looks
so easy until you try just a couple of steps. I think that's why so many think they could easily be an actor.

How cool - his sand-froid way of dealing with the error, and how his colleagues reacted to his bravery! ANYONE who gets up on stage is brave in my book!!!
