These are the kinds of things I can't really relate to since my wife and I have no children, and it doesn't appear we ever will. But I do have 15 nieces and nephews, and saw each one born and grow up with my brothers and sisters, and could feel their joy each "step" of the way. You are very lucky, and truly blessed . . .

YeS. I read somewhere that most children remark that they prefer their parents spending time with them than giving them money, buying them things, sending them to camp or letting other individuals take care of them. They want their creature comforts provided by their parents.
Most we read and hear about who have done heinous things had a terrible childhood due to neglect or abuse caused by the parent or the inattention of the parent lead to the abuse.
