That's very true, Mia! I really don't drink, and am not much of a "bar fly." On the rare occasions when I am in a bar, I would much rather be doing something . . . shooting pool, shooting darts, playing pinball, etc., . . . as opposed to just sitting and drinking. Yes, those particular types of clubs really are pointless. I was so glad they at least had those TV's, and a terrific hockey game on . . .

A great post, and an awesome analogy! I've always found strip clubs to be pointless. Not disturbing or offensive - just silly, and a bit sad. Sorry to hear you were stuck there, but at least you had some hockey to watch!!

Absolutely, MsJudy! Like I wrote, it was a bachelor party organized by others, who chose that particular place to hold it. I would never have gone to someplace like that on my own, simply because it really is a waste of time and money, as far as I'm concerned. And people seem to love my analogy when I expalin why . . .

Thanks, Utah. I have a feeling that a lot of people would have preferred to watch that game! I know the night was supposed to be in celebration of a co-worker getting married, but we could have had the same amount of fun almost anywhere! So, how's your sandwich . . . ?

Sounds quite boring Jimmy although I expect you found it a job to concentrate on the game. I suppose it gives the girls work and it could be worse. I would like to know what they are thinking.

I quit going to those places when I started my recovery...I don't miss them at all, and I have a sandwich here at home I can eat whenever I'm hungry. I would have watched the game with you.

I can understand that, Kabu. And I must say I'm somewhat appalled that any man would force his wife to attend one of these places! And you're right. As far as I'm concerned, these strippers have more or less given up their identities, and self-respect, and have lowered themselves to being just that . . . nothing but flesh! I for one will not encourage it, nor waste my time or money . . .

Thanks, Dr JPT. There are many things in life that I enjoy doing, seeing, or being involved with, that give me pleasure. Standing amongst a bunch of emtionally-detached naked girls drinking extremely over-priced alcoholic beverages as terrible music blasts in my ears is not one of them . . .

Well, adnohr, the Habs were playing that night! Believe me, I have no doubts whatsoever that, as far as the strippers are concerned, the men are nothing more than wallets. In fact, if you look closely in their eyes, all you may see are dollar signs, and that's about as far as their emotions will take them! Talk about a complete waste of time and money . . .

I agree with you. I get no pleasure vicariously with food or things. Knowing of a millionaire neighbor does not put a dime in my pocket. Watching billionaires on tv adds nothing to me. If I and not in or with it, it serves no purpose or value so I do not have to see it or hear it since I cannot touch or taste. You are not alone on this.

That's a good way of describing it. I spent time with strippers and prostitutes while working in the streets. If those men only knew how the girls laugh at them behind hands, they would have been so embarrassed they'd have watched the hockey game too. (Especially the HABS!!)
