TAPs

You start me off smiling with the Whoppie Banana picture...and then break my heart with the facebook note!

19 seems so young to be joining the military - I don't think I'll ever understand why we won't allow a 19-year-old to drink, but have no problem sending them to war (or, at least to training camp...).

I feel her pain through her note TAPS. My own son will be leaving for the Navy soon. God bless your grandson and keep him safe.

You do a great job at conveying the emotion that is felt.

Close to tears myself as I read it - what she must be going through!! She expresses with so much feeling. A brave lady, and that goes for the Grandmother too.

That FB letter is so heart breaking yet so loving and all of it true...Mothers the World over understand and cry and where did those 19 years go?? One minute you hold that tiny baby in your arms vowing to keep hin safe...the next you reach up to kiss the cheek of a man as he leaves home.

The letter is so touching, the words began to blur as I read them.

I know his mother's prayers will keep him, but oh, the nest will feel empty for some time.

She has a true way with words and hold deeply rooted values of honesty and love.  She is a blessing I your family. I have DILs from down under. They do not show that kind of love to their sons nor mine.  It is terrible hearing and seeing them. For you
