Re:Pat
Yes it seems there must be a shortage of cherries, or the birds have been desperate for moisture and I have seen pigeons eat them pea size. Best to trap the relatives one at a time.

Re: Kabu
Well I have a few on my tree but the blackfly has been so bad because of the hot weather that they need a good wash, of course the shop ones may have been given a wipe over, who knows. Chin up.

Re: Abnohr
I expect it is fattening but the seeds are sliced and with fresh butter yummy. Yes I expect you know a ladylike way to eat corn on the cob. New Zealand apples are quite nice especially the Cox. Hope the doggy feels better.

Re: CC
Peace Justi it is quite an old rose now. Slips were sent to America at the start of WW11 to safeguard the plant.

Love the rose...Cherries at 14p each (!) is an outrage, but the poem is cute...

Lovely poetry but the rose is just beautiful. That is really my favorite color of rose.

I walked by the candy today in the grocery store. Very tempting...I like the fast tempo of the poem.

Love your poem.
And, the rose looks good enough to eat for tea. How beautiful.

LOL for your poem, CCT. It is just so true! I've never tasted sunflower bread. My apples are not ripe yet either, but we have corn coming out already. Love it on the cob!!

Oh yes re the poem...nothing stinks worse than squabbling bossy relatives. i loved the way you wrote it here.
And cherries at that price is a disgrace. Haven't had any good ones here this year either. Bought some and fed them to the crows. They aren't fussy.

I, too, have been distressed at the price of cherries.
And the black ones are my favorites. Loved the little poem, it rings so true. I hate when relatives come to a family gathering and start acting like the Bickersons - kind of sours the buffet.

Beautiful flower and poem. I found some delicious black cherries at the supermarket today. They are plump and juicy.
