Re: Blue Feathers,

Thanks! Yes, it's kind of sad to see some voices go still, but new ones come in, and some previous ones come back!

Sounds as if you have been pretty busy!  Glad to see you back!

Wow, you have been very busy. Thank you for catching us up. It's so nice that you are still posting on Blogit. I have found that so many are now gone.

Re: Kabu,

I wish Mr G would have a talk with my Violetta.

I dare not count the number of truck-trips, to get the stuff out of the old house, not to mention that I don't have all that much space here.  We will probably hire a shipper at some point to get the job accomplished, as far as what I do want here.  It's cheaper than multiple truck trips with a very gas-inefficient old truck.

Re: CCT,

The doorways here fill with large pieces of wind, so would probably not do the needed job.  Only one, the one between livingroom and deck, is unscreened, actually.  Maybe if the lace curtains were really weighted down... or sewn to the carpet...

Fly paper... I have stories... One day I will tell the funniest, about my room mate and me, in college, and a very delicately raised young man who was trying to change his image, and so was calling himself Rocky and visiting unseemly sorts like us. The thing is, fly paper works. You just can't hang it where you will run into it.

Millions of flies are really gross, especially when they wake up.

You wouldn't bore me with tales of your fly flies.

Re: Adnohr,

Thanks for the welcome--I really just needed to take a break.

I will have to see about linking the video of the dance.  It isn't mine, and isn't on Flickr which would only allow 90 seconds of it, anyway.

Re: Naut,

The previous tenant left no unpleasant surprises, and I would share the house with him again, as long as he promises not to take all the ice.

You don't mention yellow jackets, either, high on my list of uselessness...   I once assumed that such creatures wouldn't exist if they didn't have a valid and viable place in the ecology of the world.  My dad straightened me out:  "A creature doesn't have to contribute anything of use to the ecologic system, to meet the standards of 'survival of the fittest.' Its characteristics don't have to be pro-survival--they just can't be anti-survival."

Of course, flies do janitor service, and the disease vector insects help keep population, especially human, controlled, though in a way terrible to us.  Yellow jackets--still useless, as far as I can tell.  Nuke em!

Re: Pat,

From bottle-bottom lenses to 20/30 vision... Yes, a definite improvement!  Even when not writing here, or commenting much, I have enjoyed reading your posts while I was 'gone.'

As soon as i hit australia ...I have to do the fly wave...I hate flies too. Mr. Graysome is awesome here. he kills and disposes of any fly that comes inside. Flies and moths.

Wonder how much more stuff you have to get from the old place before you are finished.

Flies can be a problem. Ha nd in there.

Can't you hang some lace curtains up over the doorway. Stop the little blighters coming in. For a few years we never saw any flies in the house, but they are coming back for some unknown reason. Please do not hang fly papers up it is going back to the middle ages. Some times a bird gets stuck in the chimney and then the flies are really juicy. I hope this information is helpful.  Once years ago we lived in an old bungalow on looking in the attic there were millions of flies hibernating. It was like being in a horror movie. I could bore you forever with fly tales.

Ciel

Welcome back, or maybe I should say 'home', LOL. You sure have been busy...I hope your tenant didn't leave you with too many unpleasant surprises, outside of the flies, of course! Like you, I detest flies, although I don't mind any of the other insects at all. Oh, I forgot mosquitoes, and then there are ticks and fleas...

I have been wondering where you were.  I see you have been, and are, very busy with life and loved ones.  I'm glad you are back.
