A very interesting post.  I got tired of paying $200 a month for all of the cable stuff here so we just chucked it all and now only watch free TV.  We love the PBS channels, the old TV channels and Sis insists on making us video discs of Turner Classic Movies because she loves that so much.  Its amazing how little one misses cable after a while.

Doesn't seem fair that only a handful control what is seen or heard.

it means that we have little choice between very poor reality shows and 50 year old programmes. I loved, I love lucy but we still get it here...that is craszy.
