Re: Lion, you know how it is - it started out as a longer poem but

benefited by severe "pruning."  (Wow, now THERE'S a metaphor I ought to use!)

Re: Dr J, the metaphor itself was a lovely surprise - it just kept

furnishing possibilities.

Re: Thanks, Jay. I can;t believe I failed to understand your title. It

was a failure of my imagination, which for some reason insisted on standing the shape on

one of its broad sides  Fine poem!.

Nicely put, I like the way you treat such a serious topic with gentle humour

Oh my goodness Bob, I missed the words Heart attack, so the poem was great, it twisted me, or rather I twisted myself...So glad it was a no sale. I wondered if you would come back, I miss our little chats and your always helpful comments.

Re: You know, I was AFRAID that would be the answer. Being about to

"buy the farm" I should have known.

Whenever someone says don't worry...I do. The dimensions you asked about are that of a grave.

Re: Re: Taps,
(Oops)  The second day of it all, I was really miserable and on life support.  I especially
hated the breathing mask - I fought it every time they put it back on - it felt as if it was
suffocating me instead of helping me breathe.

Re: Sinome,

Thanks.  The guy who runs the poetry slams and open mikes that I take part in came to visit me twice while I was in the hospital!  Nice guy.

Re: Bob...

Rumor, you especially know what it's like to find a metaphor rich in possibilities.

Re: Kabu,

Thank you - the metaphor appealed to me at the time.

I'm glad you're still here.  There must still be things for you to do and roads to travel.  God Bless.

Hmm yes - buying the farm only happens when the farm is ready to be bought. Yours is still on the market, Bob - let it stay there - you have writing to  do.
