Sounds like a stressful start to the new job!

I'm sure things will calm down! Leaving a new employee to close the cash seems a bit silly - if they are going to trust that job to a new person without training them properly, they shouldn't be surprised when mistakes happen!

As long as you do what is right, keep doing it. Many do not understand that processing information overload is problematic. I worked in a department store once and it can be difficult when a person who trains does not have teaching ability.

If the person who trained you missed giving you some things that you needed or some info that you needed to close it is not your fault! You did what you were trained (once) to do! Hope all went well and they found the money they said was missing and it went no further.

Its almost night time here so you are probably home already from work. I hope the day went well and that they were just testing you as you said. It is a pretty crummy way to test someone if you ask me but hey, some people truly do not know how to lead and they make them bosses .. How can they expect you to close three registers on your first time doing it with just one day trainning? That is ridiculous and even if you were to make a mistake it most certainly would not be your fault... I hope everything went OK all the best xoxoxo

if they blame you for what you are innocent of..then walk out. You are honest and reliable and leaving a newbie to close out is pretty cruel I am thinking!!
