Re: I liked that car

I remember feeling that I was moving with a roller skate beneath my butt!

I had a Clementine Orange Beetle and my brother had a black one, then a powder blog one.  I liked that car!

Re: keeping the Bug

I became more civilized, CC.  I  bought a Plymouth Duster because it had the biggest trunk for the money.  Bad karma - I crashed it the night before my wedding.

I'd say that Bug owed you nothing.

Re: sniffy story

I also used the car when I went fishing.  The less said about that the better.

Our first car was a 67 Mustang convertible... I loved that car :-)  it was aqua blue with a white top... Sooooo cute!!!!  We got it in 1970 but were the first owners and had it till, believe it or not, 1977.  It was so old the top had holes in it and when it rained the trunk would get full of water and everytime we turned left or right the water would make a swish sound  loll  it was like driving with the ocean in the car  loll... I loved it though   Great post teach... I missed you :-)  xoxoxo

I had a 67, put 200 thousand miles on the thing, painted it like an American flag with spray paint cans and sold it for 200 dollars.

Re: Re: new meaning for 'sports car'

I googled this and identified the car - the Trabant (or Trabi), the worst car of all time.

Re: new meaning for 'sports car'

I got the idea from a joke I heard about the old East German cars - the sports model was the one with sneakers in the back

Haha - a new meaning for 'sports car'! I owned one of those beetles once, had to push it to get it started, and bundle up warmly when driving it in the winter.
