My sons like meat too, and shake their heads at me when I ask for salad instead. Love the birthday party idea, and that little one is sweet! I also so feel for your DIL, who is watching her son prepare to go.....

I love your Lemon Garden Party, as long as I can also have some Key lime pie and some champers! And, unlike your men, I do not need meat at every meal - in fact there are many days when I don't have any at all! Especially in the summer I love all kinds of salad, and meat would just be a distraction. But then, occasionally, I'll throw a steak on the BBQ, just to make sure I don't turn into a vegan by default...
And that cutie-pie is just utterly adorable...

that little girl is so pretty...and your birthday idea sounds way more delicious and refreshing than all that meat. ugh!!
i feel sorry for the Mama with the boy going off to start his life...it is tough; you are right. Life is never the same again after they have made that break..

Three Cheers down with meat . Any lemon jelly? Make them all have jelly or those lemon pies with cream and stickiness. Stick up for your rights don't be a lemon. Encourage the little ones to drink lemonade. Perhaps next year you could do apples.
