I agree with Adhor in that people are starting to wake up. I hear them talking at parties, dinners... where the conversation before would have been about fashion, the beaches and the latest fad diet ( This is South Beach after all :-)) now I hear talk about Egypt and Syria , about what our politicians are doing in the middle east, serious things! There is an undertone of fear and impotence and more importantly there is talk about "what are we going to do". Is too little and perhaps too late but is there where it wasn't before and that my friend, if you knew like I know the people I am talking about... silver spoon kids, artists, society posers, self proclaimed players...that is just an amazing turn of events . That they are talking about these things at all is kind of a sign that others more serious about life might also have taken notice of what is going on. I hope so :-) xoxoxo

I'm reading your posts each day (or in the middle of the night) with avid interest, Naut. I'm also following the news telling of problems in Egypt and elsewhere, and it seems that every mention of Islam and the havoc being wreaked catches my eye. I've been catching myself muttering "To be expected, damnit!" when there is, more often than not, violence.I'm not the only one, it seems. I've noticed the increase of unease about all this being discussed among friends and/or acquaintances; not their habitual conversation topics in the past. People ARE waking up.

The whole thing is definitely fascinating. It continues to make me feel helpless to do anything about it. The head-in-sand syndrome is appealing.
