I freeze greens without blanching. I just wash them, drain good and bag them up. Of course, I don't have nearly as much as you, but it works for me.

Re: There's a shiny dead garter snake in the garbage can outside for boots sir.
You could dry it and stuff it with cotton wool Bill.

Re: CCT
Thank you Naut I do read you and always find you interesting but I do not like to comment on religion or politics for fear of offending. You have the knack of putting it succinctly, I am too blunt and it is fatal .

Re: Jimmy
Jimmy I think I would rather give them away, and starve feeling righteousness, but thank you for your brilliant suggestion.

Re:
No not really BF I grow quite a lot of flowers and admire the form long before they bloom. It is something that has been lost in the prepackaged experience.

Re: I love the brother-sister dialog - it's exactly the way we kids did once.
No I don't mind Pat but he and my brother are so careless when chemicals are involved. My brother sprayed some ivy with something nasty and was taken ill
he then had to have a heart operation. I know it was probably not related
and I have done the same in the past.

I have found that it is best to blanch before freezing, and no, I do not like frozen beans either...Sorry about your cabinet.

I love the children chatting. Stay in the cool and drink lots of water, try a slice of lemon in it. My vetetables stay very well just in the refrigerator for seveal days. You don't have to freeze them do you? I just wash and steam green beans with little salt, pepper and lots of crushed garlic. I freeze them after they are table ready if I have more than I need for a meal and they don't taste like frozen beans. I like the idea that you have a new royal baby!

Remember take care in this heat, drink water and juice....

Stay cool, drink plenty of water, and don't worry about Archie running off with an old thing you didn't really need anyway. Now you don't have to maintain it or worry about it. Out of sight, out of mind. :)

blanche all the vegies before freezing them...then the beans will come out lovely and fresh and still good for you.
Sorry the heat is knocking you sideways.
Tell Archie that we have an old push mower that we put out each Summer as part od our outdoor look.

Here's a thought . . . how about cooking those vegatables you plan on keeping first and then freezing them? That may work better . . .

I hate it when people throw out stuff I want to keep, even if I want to keep it for reasons not entirely clear to me, LOL...And the poem is priceless...
