We usually regret what we have not done more than what we have... so my thing is, when I feel those pangs of things undone, to try to do them! :-) Perhaps is calling a long lost friend...or that one that got away . I don't consider it cheating...more like getting closure to see the person I always wonder how it would have been my life with. I did it once and believe me it cured me loll... The "Oh so handsome" long hair dark and tall of my high school dreams had ( surprise!!!!) aged just like me and if I had seen him in the streets I would have not recognized him... He never became the architect that was going to change the world of design... he never wrote the all important book... he married 5 times and had 4 kids that did not speak to him Sad but a reality check for me that always thought of letting him go as a big mistake. You my friend have too much promise left in you to be thinking of giving up, settling down, shady places... Look at the sun which still shines for you so bright and remember what they say... "Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass... Its about learning how to danse in the rain" SO danse! or write... or do whatever with that wife of yours but enjoy what you have now and forget about what's coming... Believe you me it will get to you when its time. Till then ( in a 100 years) Enjoy!
