Re:
Really, TAPS? That's good to know! What a great song, isn't it? We were actually very surprised that the DJ thought it really wasn't "appropriate" as a wedding song. But of course, since it was OUR wedding, we really didn't care what others thought of our musical selections! That was one of the points of my blog . . .

What a great song for a wedding, or an anniversary, or for a private rendezvous.
Listening to it now.

Re:
Thanks so much, C C T. Yeah, I think we got our relationship, and marriage, off to a wonderful start, and it's been humming along beautifully ever since. We've been together now for over 11 years, and it's the longest relationship of both of our lives. It's a shame sometimes that a relationship like ours does seem to be a rarity these days. . .

Re:
Was that "your" song, lustor, an amazing coincidence, or something apocalyptic?
Well, for the most part, we did want to do many of the traditional things associated with weddings and receptions, but with complete control of the music! And like I wrote, I think it worked out pretty well . . .

Re: Jimmy
We absolutely are, Naut. Sometimes we would actually get involved in various conversations about past relationships ( she knows all of mine, I know all of hers . . . no secrets ). In fact, I was actually engaged once before, but we broke it off ten years before I met my wife. Looking back, that would have been the biggest mistake of my life! Yes, we are very lucky indeed . . .

Re:
It sure is, Utah. I guess I can say I'm pretty much in the same boat. Eleven wonderful years together, and I don't recall 11 arguments either! In fact, I don't think I remember three! Not only is love wonderful, it's a many splendored thing, remember?

Re:
It is that, Kabu. It really was amazing how everything fell into place for us! And if you ever get the chance to hear that song and really listen to the words, you'll understand a little more why it was so special and so apropos for us . . .

Re:
Please do, Dr JPT. It's an absolutely wonderful song. One of the ironies was that the DJ we had hired, upon seeing that song as "our" song, actually thought it was a bit unusual for a wedding song. Well, you listen to it and you tell me . . .

Re:
That's how I feel most of the time, Saif. Yes, there are some things we simply don't have any control over. But there are plenty of things that we do, and I would rather engage in the final decisions myself than leave it up to almost anyone else . . .

Re:
Thanks, mariss. Yes, that's true . . . people have more control over certain aspects of their lives than they think. It's nice to get feedback, input and advice from others, but in the end, people should stand up and take charge of certain things, especially personal things. There was no way we were about to let anyone else choose such a special song for us. Fortunately we didn't have to . . .

I suppose it really was, FSI. I guess it's kind of like when people go to a shelter to adopt a puppy or a kitten. You kinda just sit there and see which one comes to you. Then you know for sure . . .

It's romantic to have 'your' song 'find' you and become special for you! And you're two lucky people to have found one another...

That is so romantic. Few have that from the beginning that can and will last a lifetime. You started out on the same page. Beautiful. I have heard of the artist but not the song. I will look it up On iTunes.

Outstanding approach and experience. You are very fortunate. Taking more initiative is the direction I want to go in general lately; a good thought in general.

That is cool how yours and your wife's song came to be...It is more organic that way to have the song find you both.
