Kabu behave, we all know you have a long seductive tail. I don't offer everyone my dark secrets .

Re Adnohr:
It is a struggle to find a truly scented one but one or two are emerging the sellers must be able to sniff something I can't I must be ruthless and just keep the true scented ones You should be writing your book.

I think the poem is pretty self-explanatory, CCT - no further explaining needed.
Another good one - they are such fun to read. Beautiful flower too. This one has no scent? Just the pink one?

The trouble is Jimmy we are already very hot-blooded around these parts.

Re: Kabu
We are a lot, first complaining about the cold is now about the heat. I think we should have developed covered in fur and then in the spring have a complete moult. It would be a bit exciting or perhaps a bit too revealing.

Re Pat
Thank you for a reading Pat I know a lot of folk do not really like poetry all that much and I do try and write a bit about gardening, but this unusual weather we are having is a bit tiring and I have had to put my fan in one of the greenhouses. We do not have air conditioning as it is pretty unwarranted most summers.

Re: Mariss
Indeed we shall never know, probably the same spiders, but you know more about those that I do.
White seems to be fashionable today perhaps it is the hot weather.

Re: Ms Judy
Thank you Ms Judy I really should make an effort and photograph the flowers as they come out but it has been so hot and we have been warned not to get too exposed.

Indeed Naut, it does seem a bit more enthralling watching butterflies as opposed to other subjects.

Re: Rumour
Hi Rumour I guess you may be right, I start about six in the morning watering as it becomes a bit overpowering later annoyingly the hot weather is bringing the flowers on much too quickly, that's life in the Lane.

Re: justi
Thank you I am trying out several white carnations this year to try and find a real nice scented one. I have found one pink one which is very nice and have high hopes.

Re: Taps
Well that was great fun Taps we are pestered by cabbage whites, as soon as it is hot they are everywhere, but I have now got net tunnels and as long as I can creep in without letting them follow we it will be a real relief.

I really enjoyed reading that. It took me back to the day when I used to grow a lot of parsley. There were fat caterpillers that I kept finding eating at it. I gathered a few of them and put them in an empty fish aquarium that we had, along with some sturdy tree limb twigs, and lots and lots of fresh parsley. They all ate parsley for days and then they crawled up on the twigs and made caccoons. After a long time I noticed that one of them was trying to split open the caccoons so I took them out of the glass aquarium and stuck the ends of the twigs into the ground. What emerged from the caccoons were black swallowtails. My sons loved the experiment.

That lovely white flower is beautiful. I shall send this to my daughter so she may use the butterfly in her exchange of birds and bees. You are an incredible writer.

CCT...
That butterfly has more brains than some people I've known...and that beautifully pure white flower is smart enough, at present at least, to enjoy the shade while it can..

Great fun! Indeed, not just the birds and the bees, but especially the butterflies can teach us a lot about life and love, LOL...
