As we've all come to learn, creating rules and then enforcing them are usually two different things! However, rules concerning ettiquette and respect are supposed to be taught by parents to their children, much of which actually falls under that Do Unto Others adage. And I never really understood the rioting and destruction either connected to certain protests! I do not advocate revenge or vindictiveness, but if someone is wronged and pushed to the point where they feel they must retaliate in some fashion, why take it out on innocent people and/or their property? And then "certain groups" wonder why they get stereotyped . . .

I have grandchildren and I watch tv with them and I am amazed at the bad leasons the American youth is being taught on television, there is no respect for anyone.
I think this whole case was blown out of praportion by the left wing media. We have black on black crime and black on white crime that all goes un reported, but when the media and the left see white on black crime,, like the Duke lacross team feasco, and this case, the media goes nuts, it is as if they are trying to make amends for the past crimes of slavery and the unjust way things once were, trying to make America pay for its crimes of the past, crimes that cannot be paid for by the children and the grandchildren of those evil souls who commited them. We need to lose the color from our justice system, forget the past, and just be Americans one and all and equal under the law. We must let the courts do their jobs and stop trying cases on the evening news.

good post as usual...I appreciate a peaceful march as a protest but destroying property and throwing rocks and cement etc is just destructive to one's cause. Hardens others hearts.
