It all sounds intoxicating with ultra American charm and grace.  Sad that Norman Rockwell could not have portrayed her.

Nice baskets. I do not have a sister.  I can only imagine the bond and enjoyment.

I have not seen baskets like these, but I think I can make them. What a sweet post, you are such a thoughtful person.

Your sister sounds like a fun lady! The baskets remind me of the one Little Red Riding Hood would carry into the woods before she was eaten by the wolf...

How lovely that you have such a great relationship with your sister... Mine and I also get along fabulously but since we lived far apart for so long I find the closeness we felt when we were little has been lost and in its place there is a aquaintance coldness that though pleasant enough leaves, at least in me, a tinge of sadness everytime we meet.   I am so glad to hear your spell check is also not workng.... I mean I am not glad but... well you know what I mean... mine was not working and I thought it was that I had done something wrong :-)  Be well Taps xoxoxo

There's a woman here who makes hand-made baskets, not the

Langenberger style, but various patterns, some African, some look like those woven by Indian craftsworkers from the Pacific Northwest. I love baskets and pottery and hand-made things - they make a house so homey... Have a wonderful time with your sis. :)

Baskets are a favorite here too. When the children were around there would always be one piled with fruit on the counter, and I serve warm homemade bread in another to guests. Towels in one in the bathroom, trinkets in another. You have a couple of beauties in your picture. Yes - do enjoy your sister - I so remember those tête à têtes with mine....

Oh how I would love to sit with my sister and sip tea and admire her colllections and laugh about life and share a family recipe from long ago...
